Family Weekend 2012

Family Weekend is a staple in the school year, not only for myself but also for my dad.  He absolutely LOVES coming up to school during Family Weekend.  He was packed literally days in advance!  He was just so excited.  This year my sister got to come up and spend the weekend with my dad and I.  They got to campus at about  8: 30 Friday night.  After getting settled we spent the night watching The Office Season 1.

My father slept in my bed while I stayed on the couch.  My sister was lucky enough to be able to sleep in Alyssa Wilt’s room.  She was nice enough to offer her extra bed.  That Saturday morning, we went to breakfast with the Deans and Dr. Pieper.  Then we went on a trolley ride around wonderful St. Louis.  I learned that during the 80s there were houses that sold for $300,000.  Those same houses now go for millions!

Throughout the day we relaxed, played catch with the football and watched the play Noises Off.  The play was absolutely fantastic.  It still amazed me how those students memorize so many lines.

After a barbeque on the quad for dinner, my mother, dog, and sister’s boyfriend came.  We went for a walk and I got to show off my favorite puppy!Image
My mother, dog, and sister’s boyfriend all left that same night and the rest of us played Frisbee!  Afterwards we relaxed and called it a night.

The next morning we went to The Journey for an awesome service.  My dad and sister then left for a college day at SLU.

I am so thankful for my wonderful family and the opportunity that was given to me by STLCOP to see them!  I feel rejuvenated after this weekend and ready to work hard the rest of this semester.  (It’s almost November!!!)
